IP and Takedown Policy
We respect intellectual property. This page explains how to report copyright or trademark issues on Skillzonia and what happens next.
These rules cover Originals, Marketplace pages we host, the on site community, and lesson comments.
Overview
We remove or restrict content that infringes the rights of others. We also allow a fair and simple way to dispute a mistake.
This policy works with our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
What this covers
- Copyright for videos, text, images, code, course files
- Trademarks for brand names, logos, or marks used in a way that confuses users
- Counterfeit claims if someone pretends to be Skillzonia or a creator
It applies to Original courses and materials, Marketplace listings we host, on site community posts, and lesson comments. For content hosted elsewhere, report it to that platform as well.
Before you file
- Check that the content is actually on a Skillzonia page we control
- Ask the user to take it down if you know them and it is safe to do so
- Confirm you are the rights holder or have permission to act for them
- Decide if fair use or a permitted use may apply. If unsure, you can still report and we will review
What we need from you
- Your name, role, and how to reach you
- Who owns the rights. If you act for someone else, say who
- Exact URLs on Skillzonia where the material appears
- A clear description of the material you believe infringes your rights
- Proof of rights. For example registration, original file links, or dated posts
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not allowed
- A statement that the information in your report is accurate
Submit a report
You can email [email protected] or use the form below. Email is fine if you prefer.
What happens next
| Step | What we do | Target time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Acknowledge | We confirm we got your report and may ask for missing details | Within 2 business days |
| 2. Review | We check the URLs, the claim, and the material | Usually within 7 business days |
| 3. Action | We remove or restrict the content, or we reply with reasons if no action | Depends on complexity |
| 4. Notify user | We tell the uploader and share how to file a counter notice | After action |
Urgent cases like live sharing of paid course files are handled faster when possible.
Counter notice
If your content was removed and you believe it does not infringe, email [email protected] with:
- Your name and account email
- Removed URLs and a short reason why it should be restored
- Any proof that you own the rights or have permission
We will review and may restore the content or keep it down. Repeated false counter notices may lead to account limits.
Repeat infringement
We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe others’ rights or share paid course content. This can apply across communities and lessons. Serious cases may lead to a permanent ban without refunds.
How we use your report data
- We use your report to review and take action on the case
- We may share relevant parts with the uploader to resolve the dispute
- We keep records as required by law and for abuse prevention
See our Privacy Policy for more on data handling.
